From what I've read, these two had problems working together before. In the end, the anchor was suspended for the on-air incident and eventually, karma got him and he was let go.
You gotta feel bad for the reporter in the field, as he seems to be the Al Freundlich of that station (obscure sitcom reference from "Lateline"). Go see what I'm talking about here.The ugliness starts about a minute in, but watch the whole thing - you'll be shocked at how nasty it gets.
