Sitcoms just aren’t as funny as they used to be. None of them really gets me to laugh out loud anymore. I don’t know what happened to all the funny sitcom writers.
But the writers for ABC’s Better Off Ted are the exception. They do a great job with each episode. But last night’s “Beating A Dead Workforce” episode that aired at 8:30pm was even more hysterical than usual. I laughed out loud constantly throughout the entire thing.
If you’ve never seen the show, it’s about the employees of a giant company that specializes in scientific breakthroughs. The only thing the company cares about is money and the heads of the company will do whatever they can to get their employees to make the company more money.
This show is a far better workplace sitcom than The Office. If you’ve never seen it or if you’ve seen it and thought “eh”, well watch the episode that aired last night at 8:30pm. If you don’t laugh, you’re not human. (Of course, with my obsession with aliens, weird sitcoms, insane reality shows, and crazy spin rides there’s a slight possibility that you’re the one that’s human and I’m not. But I sort of doubt that.)
Anyways, see the Better Off Ted episode I’m talking about here (it’ll only be available for two weeks or so online)...
The 9:30pm episode “Change We Can't Believe In” was also good. Lines like this from an employee to his boss are too funny: “You’re so critical. No wonder I’m afraid to be alone with you. I’m afraid I’ll say the wrong thing, like 'you’re so critical - no wonder....I’m afraid to be alone with you'” as he realizes what he’s saying. LOL!
By the way, these Better Off Ted episodes are the polar opposite of the movie The Road in my previous post. It’s not even possible to get more different.
