I should let you know, I was told about this a couple weeks ago and just haven't been able to talk about it.
I hope you enjoyed the night shift and all the elements I had added to it.
I'm not going anywhere - I'll still be here at Star 102.5. I actually do a lot of other things at Star behind the scenes. I put together the programs that keep four of our Entercom stations on the air each day, I'm music director for an HD station called Subterranean (airing in a bunch of cities throughout the US), and I help Rob with the Star music.
And I'll continue to be on-air every weeknight at 6pm with the 80's After Work - the newly relocated 80's At 8. It'll still be by request, we'll still do 80's Trivia, and Fridays at 6:15pm will be the new home for Sweet Dreams with Pumpernick N' Pastry Shoppes.
And the new home for the reality show interviews will now be on the audio page of my blog (watch for one later this week with Kathy / KB, who left Survivor in the last episode).
All in all, I'm still having fun and every day I'm stunned that they pay me to do this.
On second thought, maybe I shouldn't say that! :)

Changes...
Here's a short video that should perfectly convey how I felt the day I found out about the changes to Star 102.5 nights.

Heather Mills Splash Game...

Here's a before and after picture of Fiona and her hairdo that day. (No, not the one above - that's Heather and her dog!)
And now you can do the same thing Heather did with a game based on the incident. Check it out here...

Jericho: Series Finale...

The producers of Jericho filmed two endings for tonight's episode. One is a season finale which sets things up for a third season - the other, a series finale wrapping up the show. Supposedly, the main difference is some closing narration added to the end. We'll see tonight which version they air.
A second season DVD was tentatively scheduled to be released June 10th, but that date is no longer being confirmed by the studio. That DVD set will probably be the place to see the alternate ending.
One final mystery needs to be solved for Jericho - what's with the Morse code beeps in the opening sequence every week?
The answer to that can be found at the Wiki website for the show - here's the translations for season one episodes and season two episodes.

Subliminal advertising during Lost?

It's understandable if you missed them as each was less than a half second in length. They aired after a promo for another ABC show and just before Lost returned.
Here's a clip someone put on YouTube of one of the "flash teasers" as ABC is calling them.
Be prepared to see (or not see) these more often on ABC. I know it definitely worked on me. I had taped Lost and actually rewound back to the commercials to see what the flash was.

My obsession with danishes...
For the past year, I've been doing Sweet Dreams with Pumpernick N' Pastry Shoppes Friday nights during the Night Nights on Star 102.5. If you heard it, I'm sure you've heard me talk about the incredible danish tray they offer.
Why am I so obsessed with danishes? I have no idea, but I think the obsession began when I was in Los Angeles and tried to sell a script to the TV show The Nanny which featured an entire story centered around a danish.
It didn't sell. The producers read it, but didn't even give me a comment on it other than "no thanks" through my agent at the time. A previous script I attempted to sell to that show got a slightly better "no" response where they liked the script but they didn't feel it fit in with the direction the show was going.
It was a very strange script I guess. Way too wacky for the show. Maybe someday I'll post it here if I can figure out the legalities of doing that.
Anyways, I love danishes, especially the apple ones. And I want to thank Pumpernick N' Pastry Shoppes for giving Star the chance to do the Sweet Dreams contest and putting up with my hyping the danish tray so heavily (what they really want mentioned is the "finest freshest ingredients" and the "personalized service second to none").
If you'd like to win a danish tray (or whatever you want with the $25 in Star cash to Pumpernick), sign up for Sweet Dreams at mystar1025.com.

Awareness test...

Let's see how observant you are. Can you come up with the right number in this video?
I'm embarrassed to say this, but I failed!

Jonathan Penner interview...
Hear my interview with Jonathan Penner from Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites here.
This picture is from the 1995 - 1998 ABC & NBC sitcom The Naked Truth that Jonathan co-starred on during its first two seasons. His character was Nicky, an obnoxious photographer (he's in the middle in the back row).
Now, with the exception of Survivor, he's more behind the scenes - writing and developing television and movie projects with his wife.
Don't forget to watch to see how he's doing on the Survivor reunion special, which will air after the season finale most likely in May.

The Great Illinois Corn Flake...

Yes, it's a Kellogg's Frosted Flake. But I can't say it's just a regular frosted flake because this one - amazingly - is shaped just like the state of Illinois!! You can't get much more exciting than that!!!

It really is a close match - go ahead, compare for yourself. And then rush to eBay and bid soon because bidding ends Thursday afternoon at 12:09pm!!!!!
Hurry!!!!!!!!
UPDATE (3/18/08 at 10:45pm): It's a disaster!!!!! The eBay listing for this wonder of the world has been removed! I'll keep checking and let you know if it reappears...
UPDATE (3/19/08 at 6:05pm): The auction is back!!!!! It was pulled yesterday because the auction violated eBay's policy of "no food items". Now you can bid on a coupon for the Great Illinois Corn Flake, which if won will be redeemable for the miracle corn flake. As I type this, the auction is now only at $1025.00 and ends Friday night at 11:16pm!
UPDATE (3/21/08 at 11:30pm): The auction has ended! The Great Illinois Corn Flake coupon (redeemable for the miracle corn flake) sold for $1350.00!!!!!

Survivor's Jonathan Penner...

Now it's time to talk with one of the favorites. Jonathan Penner was originally featured on Survivor: Cook Islands about two years ago and came in 7th place (Yul won that season and Ozzy came in second).
And it looks like Jonathan won't be winning this current season either. He was evacuated from the island on this past Thursday's episode, due to an infected injury.
We'll find out what happened after he was evacuated and what plans he had to win the game when I interview him tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 18th) at 9:15pm during the Night Nights.

Are you a sheeple?

When done, you'll see where you clicked compared to everyone else.
Turns out, I followed the herd on five of the pictures...

This is so wrong...
...but so funny.
From what I've read, these two had problems working together before. In the end, the anchor was suspended for the on-air incident and eventually, karma got him and he was let go.
You gotta feel bad for the reporter in the field, as he seems to be the Al Freundlich of that station (obscure sitcom reference from "Lateline"). Go see what I'm talking about here.
The ugliness starts about a minute in, but watch the whole thing - you'll be shocked at how nasty it gets.

Weekend bowling...

Online.
Amazingly, it was a lot of fun. I hung out with Kat, Mel, & TJ and we all had a great time. I couldn't believe how time just flew by.
And the really nice part - it's free! Check it out at pogo.com.

Bueno...
The current season of Big Brother isn't as exciting as past seasons. And the fault lies mostly with the boring players. The fun ones have been voted out already.
But now there's a chance to add some desperately needed drama back into the Big Brother house. One of the evicted houseguests will be returning to both the house & the game. And the best part - we get to vote who!
Amanda is my number one choice for going back in. Not only am I rooting for her to win the game, but it would be fun to see how miserable the other houseguests are when she walks back in and utters "bueno" about a hundred times a day. Based on what I've seen this season, most of them deserve this.
Allison would be my second choice, as everyone in the house would go into cataplectic shock upon seeing her again.
Go to the CBS website to vote before midnight Monday night.
Bueno.

The ultimate job...
A Dutch student has hit on the easiest way ever to make money - sleeping.
Yde Van Deutekom set up a webcam of him mostly sleeping and charges advertising for it. As of this posting, he's been at it 22 days and has made $8974!
He does give himself 30 minutes per day to leave his bedroom and shower. But other than that, it's just sleeping, resting, and making money.
In addition to the webcam, there's an unmoderated message board to talk with him while he's awake. Since it's unmoderated, anything can be said. So watch out - it might not be G-rated all the time.

RIP: Joshua Tree
The Joshua Tree pictured on U2's classic 80's album is no more.
Photographer Henry Wagner visited the tree both before and after its "death". See the pictures here.
